This was the best character development. I love this girl.

yesssss. OKAY JUST GENTLY HIJACKING THIS POST because I keep seeing things like “Chrome is defined purely by her loyalty to Mukuro” or “Mukuro is just using her, she doesn’t care if he does bad things to her etc” AND IT DRIVES ME ABSOLUTELY NUTS. 

I think one of the things that puzzle me is when people act like Chrome is loyal because Mukuro saved her—she’s loyal because he gave her a purpose and a reason for existing. She was ready to die before he came along. She thinks it’s a relief. Then Mukuro comes along like that hooker he is and notices her potential and asks her for help. She’s a lot like Tsuna in that they were both kind of ‘useless’ and never knew they had a purpose for anything until someone came along and said “hey, hey, you. You can do things.” Of course, unlike Tsuna, Chrome takes to all this crazy mafia shit like a duck to water but she’s awesome that way.

Mukuro is the first person she met but she’s not limited to only being loyal to him. She’s just as loyal to Tsuna who was the first person to recognise her as a separate being from Mukuro and that her will is her own. From the very beginning, that’s how it always was. She wants to help Mukuro and Mukuro helps her but she loves everyone else and she’s just as dedicated to fighting for them and fighting with them too. SHE’S MORE THAN JUST THIS LOYALTY. She’s not a passive follower at ALL.

Arcobaleno arc comes in and you see how far she goes to prove her own strength in order to protect everyone she loves and fight side by side with them. She doesn’t want to be reliant on Mukuro, she wants to be her own person. She wants to fight as her own person, to protect the things she cares about. She has a fierce desire to prove herself as a fighter inside of her, to the point where she’ll reject ORGANS just to do it on her own and drag herself out of hospital to throw herself into the middle of battle and I think people tend to forget that. At the end of the day, she’s every bit of a hero as Tsuna, Yamamoto and Gokudera. She wants to fight. 

So yeah, CHROME IS FANTASTIC I’M SURE MOST PEOPLE DON’T NEED TO BE TOLD THAT BUT I WANT TO CRY ALL OVER HE R BECAUSE SHE’S SO GREAT ;_;.

I’m so glad me and my boyfriend are re-watching KHR. I love this series and I’m sad that the manga ended and the anime shows no signs of coming back. There’s so much more that could of been done with it, yet it is still great the way it is.
